I have to agree with Alpha. 1.05 ruined my favorite online game. Now it's a campfest where people are afraid to traverse the level. The game was practically perfect, all they had to do was increase the grenade toss time... but they casualized it to death.
Very sad.
FFXIII for the 360 was higher on Metacritic for quite a while than its PS3 brother.
Don't try to make sense of Meta, their system is quite flawed. It's not a true aggregate.

Agreed. All they had to change from 1.04 was the TIME it took to toss a nade, to lessen cheapness. Now the gameplay is just a weak campfest. My FAVORITE online title, ruined.

The game looks great regardless.... but funny how Eurogamer seems to jump at the chance to defend it.

But have they fixed the broken spawning and crazy high damage model? I have no interest in UC2 MP until they fix these flaws introduced by their own patch!
We won't be that lucky. Word has it even Yoda is getting revamped in Episode 1 to be CG.
I think it neutered a great character, someone who was reportedly a good man at his core who redeemed himself in the end.
Instead, frankly, they make him into a whiny little b1tch instead of a good man, and totally mishandle the fear angle as his driving force. Misguided I can handle, but being a puss then going instant evil just killed it for me.
I respectfully disagree. His turn to evil was so poorly handled, forced, and underdeveloped. It was literally hey, serve me, I'm evil! Okay! They had THREE movies to develop his fall, and they do it in under 30 seconds? Disappointing.
Yeah more action... at the expense of plot, the mythology, heart, and common sense.

I agree, especially on the terminals in Halo (and scanning in Metroid Prime). Those extra little bits DO flesh out the world and give a bit more to those who seek it out.
MGS4 wrapped up a plot spanning 6 games and over 50 years of continuity wonderfully. While the game has its share of flaws, story wasn't one of them IMHO.
It wasn't Sony, it was Konami. And you harp about the awesomeness of Halo in a bunch of threads, yet you do realize MS gave out free $800 swag bags (including free 360s and copies of the game) to Halo 3 reviewers, right? Pot. Kettle.
Also, WHAT made no sense, I'd like to hear this one.

No offense to you, but I can't stand people whining because the ending isn't handed to them on a silver platter. The sequence isn't that hard, use the left and right sticks to dodge. Done.
When you're in an objective game, and your entire team is composed of "snipers" who sit on their ass... well, the game is just BORING.
What irks me more is, they HAD a hardcore mode as an option during their testing... why not just give it back? I really miss the classic UC2.
I feel like currently, I have nothing to play online except casual shooters. That annoys the hell out of me, as UC2 was my go to game for something different and fun.
